Solutions with Vuototecnica vacuum control

Measuring and control instruments:
Vuototecnica and the challenge of vacuum regulation

The regulation of values is a fundamental aspect of every circuit that operates with vacuum. Wrong measurements, even by little, can generate large energy losses and can sometimes lead to pressure losses and even more costly and time-consuming problems.
For this reason, Vuototecnica designed an efficient range of vacuum gauges, manometers, vacuum and pressure switches, vacuum control valves, vacuum reducers with relative seals.
Digital vacuum and pressure switches with two-colour display
Between the vacuum and pressure switches you can choose the digital ones with two-colour display, codes: 12 40 10 and 12 40 20. The precision of these devices is high and their operation is intuitive thanks to two displays. You can schedule values of the scales, hysteresis and other functions such as the comparison between two values, NO and NC contacts, the unit of measurement and blocking of the values. They are robust and simple to use thanks to the display that changes colour (from red to green) when the pressure value set by the user is reached.
Vacuostats 123010 and 123010A
Same characteristics but specific task for the digital vacuum switches 12 30 10 and 12 30 10A, perfect for the measurement and control of dry air and non-corrosive gases, ideal for signalling when maximum and minimum values are reached and in all those cases where there are safety reasons or for starting and stopping a working cycle. They are fitted as standard on board of compact multifunction vacuum generators, MSVE series.
When, on the other hand, there is a need for smaller dimensions, Vuototecnica offers the digital microvacuum switch 12 05 10 P, suitable for installations near suction cups or where the vacuum distribution is restricted to very limited spaces.

vacuum reducer

In hospitals, construction sites, industries, laboratories and whenever a constant and adjustable vacuum level needs to be maintained, a vacuum reducer is the ideal solution.
Vuototecnica is a pioneer in Italy in the production of these devices and produces different types, manually or pneumatically adjustable; for high and low vacuum. The vacuum reducers avoid the deformation under vacuum of objects taken from suction cups but are widely used to guarantee a stable and precise vacuum value in various production processes.

They do not introduce air into the vacuum distribution circuit and therefore customers can have a single primary vacuum source (vacuum pump) and different distribution branches (each equipped with a vacuum reducer) with different vacuum values. Made of anodized aluminium, they work everywhere and are easy to install; they can be inspected and cleaned, ready to be readopted, unlike many competitors’ products, in disposable plastic.

vacuum control valves
If there is a need to adjust the vacuum on a rotary vane suction pump, a liquid ring pump or on side channel impellers, Vuototecnica finally offers its vacuum control valves that stand out for their ease of use (they feed air into the vacuum circuit when a value set by the user is reached) and for the hermetic seal guaranteed by rubber shutters.

With the new catalogue, Vuototecnica has implemented the range of these valves up to the 1″1/2 gas model code 04 05 10 for vacuum pumps with suction capacity up to 250 mc/h. In addition, all vacuum control valves are now available, also in stainless steel version for aggressive environments.

Vuototecnica micro digital vacuum switches:
control instruments at very high efficiency

When it is necessary to produce a signal upon reaching a certain degree of vacuum, for safety reasons, for the start of a working cycle or simply to control the grip of the suction cups, Vuototecnica proposes its digital micro vacuum switches.

Perfect for the control of dry air and non-corrosive gases, they are able to provide a very accurate digital signal, to the established value. To adjust the switching point, just use the adjustment screw on the top of the unit.

micro digital vacuum switches

A red LED, near the screw, indicates the status of the digital signal switching. A very intuitive operation for everyone. The micro vacuum switches are made of polycarbonate and are constituted by a sensor, an electric circuit and a connector (or a small aluminum collector) with the vacuum connections.

You can request the product in its rotating version, to be able to steer you in the desired position without having to unscrew the vacuum connection. The connection to the vacuum can be performed via M5 connections, male or female, while the electrical connection via the three-conductor cable wires.

Vuototecnica pneumatic mini vacuum switches: keeping up with the times

Efficiency, light weight, small size. These are the keywords of innovation today. Vuototecnica always answers to market signals in a prompt and responsive way, and to meet the needs of customers designed a vacuum switch which has very small size: the pneumatic mini vacuum switch.

pneumatic mini vacuum switches

This device is able to generate or eliminate, depending on the model, a pneumatic signal at the attainment of a certain vacuum degree, previously set by the customer. It is ideal for the control of Vuototecnica multi-stage vacuum generators PVP 25/75 MDX that, in their shape, have a special site for the installation of this mini vacuum switch.

Once mounted, combined with a pneumatic slide valve and a special check valve, it allows users a considerable supply compressed air energy saving and increases the capacity of the generator. The pressure differential existing between the maximum set value and the reset value of the signal at rest is about 100mbar.

The importance of vacuum tests carried out in the food sector

The vacuum conservation of foods has revolutionised the way we conserve food, enabling us to keep fresh products unaltered for longer periods of time. However, in order to be able to offer consumers quality products, it is essential to check the vacuum levels of the packaging.

Bearing in mind the requirements of food companies, Vuototecnica has designed a vacuum gauge with steel punch able to immediately identify the vacuum level within tin cans and other food containers.

The glycerine bath 09 05 99 vacuum gauge is equipped with a tempered steel punch which enables easy piercing of the containers, and a suction cap able to maintain the vacuum subsequent to piercing the package undergoing testing. The result reading panel is an enclosed, strong metal box with glass in front and features a dual measurement scale.

The measurement device is based upon the Bourdon spring technology, providing maximum accuracy. All Vuototecnica vacuum gauges are manufactured in compliance with all safety standards and as per EC regulated units of measurements.

Vuototecnica’s digital vacuum switches: simple, precise, reliable and energy saving

Work cycle start ups, proper energy management and safety requirements all require the use of precise tools that will facilitate the measurement and the verification of the vacuum levels being generated by the vacuum sources, such as rotating vane vacuum pumps or pneumatic ejectors.

To this end, Vuototecnica offers a wide range of vacuum switches, including extremely compact and lightweight digital models. Thanks to these specific characteristics, these units can be mounted in close proximity to the vacuum applications themselves, representing immediate and intuitive tools for the end user.
vacuum switches

The flagship of this range of components is the digital vacuum switch 12 10 10. Its compact cylindrical configuration, complete with a digital display, allows for the vacuum values to be immediately viewed, thus rendering the use of a vacuum gauge superfluous; it can even be easily turned on its own axis with no need to unscrew it from the vacuum connections.

The control panel allows for the easy programming of the device’s parameters, including the switching points and hysteresis from 0 to 100% of the set value, and even offers a range of additional features, like comparisons between values, NO and NC contacts, units of measure and the blocking of functions and programmed values. The panel includes two LED indicators (one green and one red), which indicate the switching status of the two digital output signals. The two switching outputs are independent.

The unit comes installed as a standard feature on board the GVMM range multi-stage and multifunction vacuum generators, not only to verify the generation of the vacuum level required for the application, but also to manage the pneumatic ejector’s compressed air supply, thanks to the hysteresis function and a electrical cable specifically designed for managing energy savings. The Vuototecnica product range also includes the 12 05 10 P digital micro vacuum switch, which is even more compact and features a switching time of less than 1 millisecond.

Maintain the vacuum level constant with Vuototecnica reducers

In hospitals, construction sites, industries, laboratories and any place where a constant and adjustable vacuum level must be maintained a vacuum regulator is the ideal solution. Specific reducers exist depending on the required use, for low or high vacuum levels.

vacuum regulators

The vacuum reducer is a valuable tool as, for example, when installed in centralized systems in which each conductor can be adjusted to a value different from the vacuum level of the central plant.
Vuototecnica is the pioneer in Italy in manufacturing state-of-the-art vacuum reducers. For more than 30 years, the reducers have been the flagship product in the Vuototecnica catalogue and there are various types of them.

• Reducers with manual adjustment, via a knurled screw, whose operation is based on the difference between the atmospheric pressure and the vacuum required for the job;
• Manual reducers for low vacuum levels, thanks to which it is possible to adjust the minimum vacuum level in order to come as close as possible to the value of the atmospheric pressure;
• Vacuum reducers with pneumatic adjustment, that exploit pneumatic principles in defining the ratio between the compressed air supply and the vacuum level to be obtained. The reducers can be installed even in places far from the central control unit and they are operated via a pressure regulator on the control panel.

The vacuum is maintained constant by Vuototecnica reducers even when there are fluctuations in the pump or vacuum pumpset, the atmospheric air never enters the circuits, thereby preventing products from being warped by too much low pressure.

More and more precision vacuum and pressure gauges
manometers

Vacuum measurement is substantially based on the principle of operation of a spring, discovered in the 1800′s by French engineer and watchmaker Eugène Bourdon.
One end of the spring, in a special copper alloy, is welded to the threaded pin of the vacuum gauge – pressure gauge, forming a single body, while the other end, closed, is left free so that it moves, and therefore measures the vacuum level, based on the pressure or depression which passes through the spring’s body, deforming it.

From this basic principle entire ranges of more and more innovative vacuum metres have been developed, enclosed in strong metal cases even with dual scale faces and indexes, available on the market in the most varied versions: vacuum metres with radial or coaxial connections, with flush flanges or for external use, dry or in glycerine baths.

The selection of vacuum measurement, control and regulation instruments is truly vast, both analogue and digital, useful to provide a very precise digital signal at the maximum set measurement value.
